Board member Dean Hoke has been selected to replace Dan King upon his retirement as President & CEO of AAUA, effective July 1, 2023.

In addition to its regular non-thematic issues, JHEM is planning two special issues for 2024. (1) The Academic Department Chairperson: Challenges, Lessons, and Rewards, and (2) Envisioning the Future of American Higher Education.

Each year, AAUA offers a limited number of higher education administrators a unique, meaningful, and highly prestigious professional development opportunity through its AAUA Professional Development Fellows Program.

The AAUA Board of Directors elected its annual slate of officers and committee chairs during the 2022 annual Board meeting. Comprising the association Board’s executive committee, the officers meet regularly throughout the year to provide policy direction. In addition, several members of the executive committee serve as chairpersons designated by the By-Laws for standing association committees.

Cavanaugh, President and Executive Coach, Pathseekers II, Inc. Recipient of the Goodheer Distinguished Professional Service Award. Juanita Cole, Dean, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, California State University, Monterey Bay. Recipient of the Cavanaugh Award for Leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The American Association of University Administrators (AAUA) seeks nominations of/applicants from candidates for several of its annual higher education leadership recognition awards.
